Enterprise IP Management

The quest to be first in a competitive time-to-market window has redefined the manner in which IPs are created and used in the semiconductor industry. An increased use of IPs in SoC designs is helping reduce the design development cycle considerably. Not only has this resulted in a spurt in the use of third-party IPs, semiconductor companies are also realizing the economic importance of creating IPs from any design modules they develop, and reusing them in other SoC designs within the company. The large number of IPs either being bought or developed internally has created a large and growing need for an easy-to-use process by which designers can create, update, search and compare IPs for use in a SoC design.

The IP Management system from ClioSoft is a part of the SOS platform and provides a mechanism by which designers within a company can easily create or update IPs, deposit them into a central repository and help proliferate the usage of the IPs. It enables semiconductor companies to manage and track the internally developed IPs.

The SOS platform provides an eco-system where designers can create new IPs or update already-existing IPs, classify IPs into the desired categories, upload IPs into a repository and search for IPs as needed. Designers searching for IPs have the capability to review the SoCs that the IPs have taped out in and check the quality of the IPs by executing the verification scripts.

To track and manage the different versions of an IP as well its defects, the SOS platform couples the IP Management system with the revision control and bug tracking systems. It also provides SOS administrators an ability to manage the proliferation of the IPs and restrict each as needed to specific groups of users.

The IP Management system from ClioSoft is included within the SOS platform and does not require a separate license.
